Something fun to do when your pregnant

With this pregnancy, I have been way more curious to find out the gender than I ever had with Colton. With Colton it didn't matter to me whether he was a boy or a girl. With this one, I hope for a girl but of course a healthy baby is all that matters.
My curiosity though has been at an all time peak! I was searching the web on crazy ways to find out the gender. None of them are accurate, but are still fun to do and fun to see if they are right.
So, the cabbage test is the one I did.
To do this, you buy a red cabbage and boil it for 10 minutes. Take 1 part of the juice and 1 part urine and if the color stays purple it means girl. If the color changes to pink or red it means boy.
Here are my results:
The left is the cabbage water. The right are my results.
So, my result is Girl. Now, to see if this test was right for me. I will find out Aug.18!!! So stay tuned for an update!

Popsicles of all kinds!

One of the units for the summer we have worked on was all about popsicles! I came across this awesome blog called 2 Teaching Mommies. I have to say, I LOVE this blog and can't get enough! Unfortunately I have not made any printables of my own because well, I am not that savvy nor have I looked into it much or know where to start.
Colton had SO much fun! We made pudding pops at the end of the week and were a HUGE hit with him and of course me too! During the week we enjoyed learning through a fun way of popsicles and enjoying eating some as well.
Here are pictures to share :)
Do-a-dots...instead of Do-a-dot markers we use bingo dobbers!(cheaper too!
learning and matching shapes!

learning his colors, he even stayed in the lines :)
Helping to make pudding pops!
Hope you enjoyed this unit as much as we have! Colton learned his colors and stayed in the lines; for that I am ecstatic!

Pregnancy, Week 17

baby at 14 weeks 3 days(thinking,hoping girl)

I finally will update! I had an appointment this week. While on vacation I was told by the nurse that her and the doctor were trying to get a hold of me to let me know my results for my papsmear came back abnormal. I of course was a nervous wreck after I was told that. My blood pressure has always been high but I have yet to be out on any sort of medication for it. Well, my blood pressure when the nurse checked was SUPER high. the doctor calmed me down and explained everything would be fine. I am scheduled for a coloscopy. He then explains that it is just a microscope to look at my cervix and see if anything looks abnormal. If there is something that looks white(ish) I will have to get a biopsy done and if nothing else, just a swab. He then retook my blood pressure and it was still high, just not as high. The doctor also said that at my next appointment if my blood pressure is still as high, he will be putting me on medication. I had to take a 1hr glucose test and that came back awesome! WOOHOO for me!
Another bump however, is that he asked if I had thoughts about my birthing plan. I mentioned i wanted a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section) well, he said that I would have to have to have a counseling class. Also, that whoever is on call, might not do the VBAC. He said there are not many providers who will. So, by my next appointment I will be doing some research more about it and then bring him some facts, because all doctors like facts right? I just want to experience a vaginal birth. I also know that 99% is a great number for everything to be okay if you have one. So, I will also ask him why. He also said that is another bump in the road we can talk more on later...well I will be mentioning it to him at my next appointment and also let him know my own concerns.
 Appointments:
Aug. 4-Coloscopy
Aug.16- OB appointment
Aug.18- gender ultrasound!!!!!!
Anyways, baby is doing great and moving around. I feel movement off and on throughout the day and growing.

How we celebrated our 4th of July

On our trip to Michigan we enjoyed celebrating the 4th of July. While packing I had that in mind. I found some amazing worksheets @ 2 teaching mommies I came across this blog and ever since I have bookmarked it because that is how much I frequent!
So, I didn't take pictures of Colton's finished worksheets and I can't take pictures of them now because both the husband and I forgot the 'fun bag' at my moms...and in the bag of course were the finished worksheets and quick craft he did. I had some 4th of July stickers, courtesy of the Target dollar bins and some red, white, and blue construction paper letting him go to town. I apologize and I actually am kicking myself now as to why I didn't take pictures. To add to the worksheets, I printed off the Statue of Liberty coloring page as well.
Here are some pictures from the 4th of July!

I am Back!

I have to apologize for not posting anything in ages! it has been very hectic and busy and we just got back from a  two week long vacation to Michigan visiting my family and friends and then visiting my husbands fathers side of the family.
While in Michigan, we went to some fun places. We went to Splash Village and Saginaw Zoo. We also took a day trip to Tawas and went to the beach there. Playing in the pool my mom bought, going for ice cream, enjoying company, shopping, and eating out was truly a blast! Colton really discovered his voice and became extremely talkative!
Here are some pictures of out fun time!
