'R' is for...

This week was all things 'R' related! We had a TON f fun learning about the rainbow and colors mostly. I also had fun dying pasta for the first time and trying out rainbow waffles. Colton had a lot of fun learning about rainbows and robots. I incorporated colors, rectangles, counting, different senses as well as gross motor skills. The wonderful husband of mine also surprised me with a craft table for the craft/sun room. It is just a folding table from Walmart, but it's nice and will also be great for mini parties and such. The same morning he came in with the table and two chairs, he also brought in a sewing machine! I was so speechless I could only cry. My first ever sewing machine and so excited.

rainbow waffles...yummo!

painted handprint rainbow, my fav!

handprint butterflies with dyed pasta in between

Rainbow handprint wreath for craft door

dyed pasta glued on contact paper, taped on window!

So that was our week of R and boy o boy we had a LOT of fun!

Q is for..

Last week we started back up on our alphabet learning with the letter Q. I originally planned to wait until husband went back to work, but it was his idea that we start. So of course I sprung on the opportunity!
So we started by making a quilt from paper. All I did was cut up different squares from 3 different scrapbook papers. Colton has a playroom here and we call it the animal room. So when I chose the scrapbook papers, I came across one with animals and numbers on it. I have so much paper stashed I had forgotten about it. I framed it and hung it on the playroom wall.

Another fun word we learned was Queen. I took a paper plate for the base. I cut a construction paper in a circle and cut out a rectangle so when you glue it down it looks like a Q. Then we gave her a mouth, eyes, and f course what is a Queen without a crown?

Not many words I could come up with that start with Q. But there is one left. Q-tips! We had a blast with them. I had Colton paint with them. The plan I had was me choosing paints that matched our living room to hang on the wall. So that is what he did! I went to the Dollar Tree and splurged(haha) and bought a black frame. Voila!

And lastly, I decided to attempt at a dandelion although looking at it kind of looks like a sun. Either way i really like how it turned out. I layed the glue where it needs to be and found out Colton is a perfectionist because he lined up each Q-tip in the glue lines perfectly.

That was our week of Q!

Luck O' the Irish!

Tomorrow is St.Pattys Day and I feel the holiday seems to be celebrated in a bar drinking and so on. I have never been out on St.Patricks day in that way but having a child and loving to craft and cook, I planned crafts and some fun meals. Having my husband gone for a year and now he is back, well I want to celebrate every holiday to its entirety as much as I can.
For breakfast I am making rainbow waffles! For dinner I am making Irish Stew and busting out the ol' crock pot. We happen to be learning the letter 'R' and so we will enjoy lots of rainbow everything. And for a snack I will be making a shake with bananas and lime sherbet! O it defintely will be a GREEN day for sure! As well as playing with the playdoh we made and enjoying a yummy Kix treat.
the past couple weeks we have been making green and yellow playdoh, painting shamrock placemats and making little shamrock people and decor.
First up is  the playdoh. The recipe is a past post with Koolaid. I chose green and yellow.

I found foam shamrocks at the Dollar Tree and punched holes at the top of them and hung them on some yarn and taped them to top of the door entrance to my craft room.

Another fun project was painting, I found adhesive sticky contact paper at the Dollar Tree and decided to make placemats :) I painted Colton's hands and printed. I also traced soe shamrocks on paper, glued around and had Colton shake glitter all over and made those into placemats too.

Cut out big shamrocks and little shamrocks from green paper. Then cut 4 strips of white paper and accordion them. Create a shamrock person by gluing arms and legs add the little shamrocks as hands and feet. Decorate as you like, Colton enjoys wiggle eyes and glitter right now so that is what we did. My husband even got involved with this one...

Are you doing anything special for St. Patrick's Day?

Enjoying Life

So, I am coming back with a bang! I just posted two reviews and headed for one more shortly. I just wanted to pop in and do some more heart to heart kind of blogging. I hve missed my laptop and bloggy friends and wonderful followers! I can't belive it took almost a month to get internet! GAH! But, we of course have it now and I am not going anywhere!
I love our house and how homey it is. I also have to add how amazing it is having a husband again for an added arm or eye. I can now go to the park and take pictures or how nice it is to use the bathroom with out a knock or intrusion. Cooking has never been a bigger joy and I am trying all kinds of fun new recipes as well. The husband has even partook on helping with a cute shamrock craft.
We are both still learning and getting in our niche so to say. Colton is LOVING having daddy time and as I was looking through pictures of them together I have taken, I haven't seen a bigger smile on my husbands face. He seems content and happy. Just as Colton and I are now he is home.
Getting organized has been key right now. Oh and get this, I have a room to craft! It is normally the 'sun room' but it is the craft room. I am getting a table and a couple chairs in the next couple days to complete the room. Then I will take pics of my organization and the room is just full of windows which I love.
So, that's it for now and now I will update myself on all your blogs. How have you all been?

We had family playdoh time and the husbands message to me.

My LipStuff Review and Giveaway!!

I don't know about you, but I tend to have chapped lips during the winter and sometimes it can get just as bad in spring. I also wanted to find a product that I could use on me or Colton. Colton also has chapped lips but his are constant. Well. I found a product! My Lip Stuff! The company has OVER 500 flavors! I have never heard of a product know of 500 flavors...but this one does and also uses natural ingredients and does NOT test on animals! The lipbalm goes on smooth and does not have a waxy feel. I have long hair and I also did the test when it gets windy to see if my hair sticks to my lips and it doesn't! I also have to admit, my husband hasn't noticed I am wearing anything on my lips. He always makes me wipe my lips even for a peck, but since I have worn the My Lip Stuff lip balm he doesn't mind. I also love that there is no color to it. I can just swipe and go.
I received Kitty Litter Cake, Peach Cobbler, Raspberry Lemonade.
They smell amazing! I have to add, they are also reasonably priced and can be found HERE

PETCAKES REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY!!

A Petcake is a toy/stuffed animal that looks just like a cupcake. The animal is set in a 'wrapper' and has a frosted head and even incudes a cherry! The Petcake retails for $13.99. The company is called Well Made toy co. and I must say, the company lives to the name! I received the series 1 which is the four dogs. Colton LOVES them and plays with them all the time. Kids and their parents who visit can't get over how cute they are. I have to admit that this months Parent magazine has them in their for great gifts under $25! Well made toys have also made a raccoon and squirrel as well as a bunch of others. They are not a small shincy item either. They are big and attatched their wrapper but it can easily detach if neccessary. I have not found anything wrong with them and 100% satisfied with them!
Our new doggy friends are:
Twinkle Sprinkles, Blueberry Buddy, Randy Candy, and Coco Coconut. All of which have a sweet story.
You will be able to find Petcakes at Toys R US(online only), Amazon, and etoys.com. You can also look at all the cute huggable lovable petcakes HERE

Getting Settled....

What a week it has been! I am sooooooo sorry I still do not have internet and will hopefully sometime this week. My little family are getting settled and unpacked in our home. man, why did noone seem to tell me that even renting a home is a lot of work? of course not as much as when you buy, but still quite a bit of work is put into a home.
I made it after a 12 hr drive following my husband with a toddler in my vehicle. I am not only impressed, but proud of myself. We are unpacked (thanks to me) and still need to hang decor and pictures. I must add i am in love with this home. It is our first actual house and I can not for the life of me wonder why we did not think about renting sooner. There is so much room here and there is a sun room with easy clean up floors and LOTS of windows; know where I am going with this? Yep...CRAFTS! Once my husband gets paid next week a folding table is on our list.
Here is a list of things to come here on the blog as soon as internet comes to the Price home:
